Date and Time: 6pm for a 6:30pm start | Tuesday 12 March 2024 | St Marys Cathedral – Chapter Hall

We live in time of increasing violence and with the threat of catastrophic climate change. No wonder young people are in need of hope. Father Timothy Radcliffe will explore how the Eucharist is the our marvellous sacrament of hope. It was instituted in the bleakest time, the night before Jesus was tortured and crucified, and it still carries for us the hope of the Kingdom.

The Very Reverend, Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP is a Dominican friar who served as global Master of the Order of Preachers (Dominican) from 1992 to 2001.

In 2003, Oxford University awarded Fr Timothy Radcliffe an honorary Doctor of Divinity. He also has honorary doctorates from twelve other universities including Fribourg and the Angelicum. He is also a Consulter for the Pontifical Council of Justice and Peace. He is a Sarum Canon of Salisbury Cathedral and a Freeman of the City of London.

Fr Timothy’s books have been translated into 24 languages and in 2007, he received the Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing for his book What Is the Point of Being A Christian?

In January 2023, Fr Timothy was selected by Pope Francis to lead a three-day preparatory retreat for participants in the synod on synodality.
